Cookie policy

This site is deliberately light on cookies. There are no advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels and no cross-site tracking. What follows is the full list.

Before you rely on this

This document describes how this website actually works and is written to be accurate rather than generic. It is not legal advice. If anything here is unclear or you need it in a different form, email us.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to function and cannot be turned off from within the site.

  • vq_admin_session — set only if someone signs into the internal admin area. HTTP-only, signed, expires after 8 hours. Never set for ordinary visitors.
  • Consent preference — if a consent banner is enabled on this deployment, your choice is stored so you are not asked on every page.

Session storage (not cookies)

The site uses your browser’s session storage — which is cleared when you close the tab — to remember the first page you landed on and where you arrived from. That lets us attribute an enquiry to a source without following you across other websites.

  • vq_landing_page — the first page of your visit
  • vq_referrer — where you arrived from, or “direct”

Analytics

If web analytics is enabled on this deployment, it sets its own cookies to distinguish sessions and measure aggregate usage. Where consent is required in your jurisdiction, these are only set after you consent.

We use analytics to understand which pages are useful and where people get stuck — not to build a profile of you. We do not enable advertising features, audience sharing or cross-device identity in it.

What we do not use

For clarity, because most cookie policies do not say this plainly:

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies
  • No social media tracking pixels
  • No cross-site or cross-device identity resolution
  • No session recording or heatmap tools
  • No data broker or enrichment scripts

Controlling cookies

Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies, and clear site data including session storage. Blocking cookies on this site will not stop you reading anything or contacting us — the only thing that stops working is the internal admin sign-in, which is not for visitors.
