Terms of service

These terms cover use of https://www.verqenconsulting.com. Consulting engagements are governed by the written proposal and statement of work agreed for that project, which takes precedence over anything here.

Before you rely on this

This document describes how this website actually works and is written to be accurate rather than generic. It is not legal advice. If anything here is unclear or you need it in a different form, email us.

Using this website

The content here is provided for information. You are welcome to read it, quote it with attribution, download the checklists and use them in your own work — including commercially. You may not republish substantial portions as your own work.

Nothing on this site is a binding offer. Prices shown are starting figures for scoping conversations; the price that applies is the one in a signed proposal.

What we guarantee, and what we do not

We guarantee the scope of work described in a proposal, that every finding we deliver will carry the evidence it came from, and that we will tell you when something did not work.

We do not guarantee search rankings, traffic volumes, revenue outcomes, or that any AI system will mention or recommend you. Nobody can guarantee those, and a supplier who does is describing something they do not control.

  • Guaranteed: the agreed scope, the evidence standard, the delivery timeline agreed in the proposal, and honest reporting including non-results
  • Not guaranteed: rankings, traffic, revenue, AI-search placement, or the behaviour of any third-party platform

Access and your systems

Most work requires access to systems you control. You are responsible for having the authority to grant that access. We request the minimum access needed, prefer read-only, and will tell you when a task genuinely needs write access.

We do not make changes in a production environment without a staging environment, a rollback plan and your explicit approval. Where you implement our specifications yourself, responsibility for the implementation is yours — we will review and validate it if that is in scope.

Your responsibilities

Providing accurate information about your business, giving timely access to the data a project needs, and nominating someone who can make decisions. Projects stall on access and decisions far more often than on analysis.

If information you give us is materially inaccurate, conclusions drawn from it may be wrong. We will flag what we could not verify.

Fees and payment

Project fees are fixed in the proposal before work starts. If scope needs to change mid-project we stop and agree the change rather than invoicing a surprise. Monthly programmes run month to month after a one-month onboarding period.

Invoices are due on the terms stated in the proposal. Work may be paused on materially overdue invoices, with notice.

Confidentiality

Anything you share with us about your business, systems or performance is confidential. We do not disclose it, publish it, or use it for another client. Case studies are published only with your written permission and only with real numbers.

We expect the same in return for our methods, templates and internal tooling.

Intellectual property

Deliverables produced for you — audits, specifications, roadmaps, briefs, measurement plans — are yours to use, keep and share internally once paid for, including if you take them to another supplier.

The underlying methods, frameworks, checklists and internal tooling remain ours.

Liability

We take responsibility for our work and will correct our own errors. Liability under any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

We are not responsible for the behaviour of third-party platforms, for changes to search engines or AI systems, or for outcomes affected by changes made outside the agreed scope.

Termination

Either side can end a monthly programme with 30 days written notice. Projects can be ended early, with work completed to that point invoiced and all deliverables produced so far handed over.

We may decline or end an engagement if we are asked to do something we consider misleading, against a platform policy, or outside what we can support with evidence. We will say why.

Governing terms

The governing law and jurisdiction for an engagement are stated in its proposal. For use of this website, the law of the jurisdiction in which we are established applies.
